Fat Bucks

All the bucks are doing very, very well and have gained a little weight! They are on alfalfa/orchard/oat hay, twice a day, and as you can see from the photos - they are thriving.

Hope you all are enjoying the heat!

Farm life & trips!

As usual, things have been busy on the ranch lately. Lots of does in milk, new animals, old animals, no more babies being born (right now), does are needing to be getting bred soon, the weather is hot, everyone is doing pretty well for the most part and everyone has been busy!

This is a new bottle calf,

And some new older calves,

One of our guard llamas,

My wonderful Mom,

A new miniature horse,

Early Friday morning, me and 3 of my older siblings headed out to Nebraska. It was almost a 10 hour trip. We were headed there for the Nebraska State Republican Convention to Live Stream it. The trip went well, the people in Nebraska were very friendly and welcoming, and we had a blast.

The guest house we stayed at,

Silly tired siblings!

Hope you all have a great day and don't overheat in this hot weather!

Liberty Party at the Ranch!

This past Sunday, July 1st, we had a big Liberty Party at the Ranch. Lots of Ron Paul, liberty loving people came up. We had a great time, and thanks to everyone who came. To those who didn't come, you certainly missed out!

We had TONS of food, and still have lots of left overs. What's a party without tons of food?!?

We had music playing all day long, and in the evening we had some songs sung live by Hannah Young, her sister and several of us (myself included, in the group songs).

The pony rides on Liberty Lady were a huge hit among the kids, and the big guys when they wanted to be goofy :),

There was lots of hang out time with our fellow freedom loving friends. Some drove here from as far as 5 hours away!

A few speeches were done in the evening after dinner as well as the singing,

We also played volleyball.

We had a blast, and hope everyone else did too! If you didn't make it this time, maybe you can next time :).

When it was milking time, I was hoping to just get a few of my siblings and good friends in there and get milking done as quickly as possible. Well, we got it done quickly, but my sister decided to say over the mic that it was milking time and everyone was welcome to watch! So, there ended up being about 40 people in the milk room watching. It was fun, and I hope everyone enjoyed watching ;).

Hope you all have a great 4th of July!

It's Summer!

Summer officially came, and the heat came with it! The high has been near or over 100 the past few days... hot! All the animals seem to be handling it pretty well for the most part, thankfully.

The other day a big thunderstorm rolled in and dumped a bunch of rain on us, it was much needed as it is already a very dry year - not a great thing! Right before it rained, the sky looked like this, so I thought I'd snap a picture ;).

The big Boer buck that is the current resident here on the Ranch.

We currently have 2 bottle calves and 14 bottle kids. This calf is a little Jersey bull, and I think he's just adorable ;). Right now we are milking 35 does, and even with all the bottle babies, using lots of milk and making tons of cheese, we still have a LOT of milk. . . it's a blessing!

A couple of our doe kids from this year, I have been very pleased with their growth rate!

These are a few knew girls at the ranch that my mom and sister picked up.

And a new ewe...

Haven't given an update on baby Trauma in a while. She is doing very well! Gets around like a normal kid despite her crooked neck. She can even drink her bottle standing up now!

Hope you all have a great day!

hello!

The ranch is doing good. Things have been busy, as usual. New animals have come, some have gone. Everyone is doing well. We could really use some rain but, we are very thankful for beautiful alfalfa hay to supplement with. Here's a few pictures.

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork."
Ps. 19:1

One of the few older calves we have right now.

This is "Jenny", one of our doelings we kept from this years kiddings. I have been very, very pleased with how well they are doing and growing.

There are lots of baby ducks around this place lately!

My mom's little garden this year,

Jivara, another one of our 2012 doelings. She's an Alpine.

Our big ole' guard jenny donkey... she's pregnant and due in the fall.

our little kitten!

A brand new lamb,

This is a new sheep we got recently, and man, she is HUGE! This picture really does not show how big she is.

pretty rooster!

Ruby, one of our 2012 Nubian doelings.

And Sasha, one of our 2012 Alpine doelings.

And last but not least, this is one of our doelings we got this year out of Six-M-Galaxy lines. She still needs a name (oops!).

Hope y'all have a good day!
