More babies, and more new does!

We have had more babies born and bought a few more Nubian does. Here's the updates. I am going to try and work on the website in within a few days and get new pictures and info up on everyone.

Last Friday we picked up our two new Nubian does, Maggie and Rosie (mother/daughter). They are beautiful girls, and they produce like pros with great udders! They are both a pretty brown with white ears, and their udders are very nice with very easy to milk teats. Pics will be up on the website soon, Lord willing. Thank you Linda Denmark!!

As for babies born, Northwest Goats Lil' Prissy kidded to a beautiful doeling on the 25th. Her sire is Junior Mint and she is a F1. She is just adorable though! Her ears are super long, her type is very nice, plus she is extremely colorful and is a sweety. Her dam is a wonderful milker with a very nice udder and her sire comes from great milking lines also. We are keeping her and her name is Starlight Mint ("Starlight").
Then yesterday, the 30th, PawPawNin Verona kidded to beautiful buck/doe twins. They are both very colorful and have nice ears. Verona is milking very good also! The only problem is that the buckling's front feet are a little deformed - when he stands or walks, he is walking ontop of his foot. Hopefully that will straighten out with time. He got a BoSe shot also. We are thinking about keeping the doeling. She doesn't have a name yet though!

Third gen. MiniNubian buckling for sale

Hello all,

We have a beautiful 3rd generation MiniNubian buckling for sale. He comes from great milking lines, and I can send udder pictures of his dam (PawPawNin Willa) and related does. He is about 7 weeks old and is being dam raised. He is a very flashy little guy also, and has nice pendulous ears, though he does have some ear control. We are asking $100 (negotiable) for this handsome buck. Located in Northeastern Oklahoma, transport might be workable to various states.

Time for another post!

I think it's well overdue time for another post. I've just been busy lately. Here's an update on everything.

Baby kidded on February 27th, around 2am to two beautiful bucklings. We are keeping on of them as a wether, and the other one is sold already. Baby ended up not doing so great and getting very thin, and not milking as much as she should. She is doing a lot better now and putting weight back on. Needless to say, our feed program has changed some and all dairy goats are getting ALFALFA!

Next doe due was a Togg doe named Jess. She kidded on March 3rd (on day 148) to a buckling that looked very premature. I don't have a clue why that happened. He did not make it :(, and she didn't have any other kids.

Everyone else is doing great though! All of the kids are sold except for one F3 Mini Nubian buckling - see below for more info on him. We now only have 5 does left to kid. They are - Prissy, due tomorrow; Verona, due April 1st; Vanilla, due May 13th; Doris, due May 25th; and Whitney, due June 8th. We also have a Nubian/Boer doe that is due in May sometime - I forgot to write down when she was bred!

I am very excited to say that we now own PawPawNin Willa (F2) and her two F3 bucklings - thanks to Aliza Vanderlip for such a beautiful doe! Althou

gh Willa has lots of the same lines as lots of our other Minis, she will be a great addition to our herd. Look at that udder! Willa is also a very small doe, about the size of a Nigerian. We are keeping one of the bucklings, but the other is for sale. Email me if you are interested in him (sf@goodgoats.net).

New kids, updates, etc

Hello all!

I have been very busy and have not had the time to post. Everyone is milking very well and doing great. Here are some updates.

Almost two weeks ago we got 2 more beautiful Nubian does. Both of them are about 2 years old. The one came with a doeling on her, so she is in milk and milking pretty well so far. Her udder is very nice, and her teats are very nice sized and easy to milk! They are both very colorful girls - the doe in milk is brown with white spots and frosted ears; the other doe is black with frosted ears and a white stripe, with some brown. They are also very nice typed and put together very well!

Monday the 22nd, Adams Funny Farm Daisy Mae, bred to Quiet Wyatt, kidded to a buckling and doeling. Both of them are just adorable! The buckling has very nice ears and type and I think he would make a wonderful sire. The doeling's ears will probably end up being 2/3 drop. She is also polled. They are 2nd generation kids. Daisy is being a wonderful girl and milking like a pro, yet again!

And now yesterday morning, the 23rd, PawPawNin Vivid Bridget kidded to one beautiful buckling. He is small, compact, and looks a lot like his sire as a baby, just different colors. His ears are pretty nice, and is very well put together. I just look at him and go "wow"! He is also polled, and is a velvet-red with white swirl all over. Very cute little guy. Bridget is also milking very well. The buckling is a 3rd generation kid.

So anyway, I think that is most of the updates. One of our Nubian does, Baby Ruth (bred to a Boer buck, CVC Gander), is looking very big, due on the 28th. I think she is going to go within the next day or two. She should have some nice 50/50 kids. I am also looking forward to milking her again as this is only her second freshening and she milked great last year.

Updates!

Well, I have not posted in a little while. Jolinar, the last doe due for January, kidded on Wednesday the 21st to big twin bucklings. Both were very healthy and everyone is doing great. Jolly is being a great milker with a beautiful udder also!

We are sold out until more kids are born. All the bucklings are gone, and a few doelings still have to go to their new homes, but they are sold. We are keeping 3 doelings for now - French Kiss ("Frenchie"), 2nd gen. out of Icthus VML Champagne Kiss and Dreamy-Hollow Parker; Princess Piggy Pants ("Princess"), a 2nd gen. out of Good Goats JM Piglet and PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt; and last but not least, Blush Rose ("Blush"), a Togg/Saanen, out of The Bowles Rosie Cheeks and a Saanen buck.

The Bowles Rosie Cheeks kidded!

On Monday night, Rose (Toggenburg first freshener bred to a Saanen), had a few bubbles hanging out. We watched her but she didn't seem have be having much if any contractions at all. So we went in and found 2 big tangled kids (after trying to figure out what we were feeling). My cousin, who is a big guy, when in and it took about 40 minutes total to get both kids out. First what there was, was one kid's front legs, and the other kids head. So he pushed the head back, found the other kids head and pulled her out. Big healthy doe kid. The second kid wasn't going to come on its own either. So he got his head, couldn't easily find the legs, and pulled and pulled till his head finally came out, then he found his legs and out he came. Another big healthy kid, a buckling this time though. Momma was a little dazed - poor girl, this was her first kidding and it was probably the roughest kidding we've had here!

Rose ate grain and hay and had warm water and electrolytes available right afterward, while I milked her. She actually seems to be doing great for how hard the kidding was! Thankfully, about 4 hours after the kids were all out, her placenta came out fully. Rose is also started on Pen G to prevent infection.

6-goat milking stanchion is done!

Well, our 6-goat milking stanchion is done and in use! I really like how it turned out. It takes the does some getting used to, but it makes milking time much faster and easier. Here are a few pictures. Let me know if you want one too :).

More babies! Nina, Lizzie & Piglet

I have been very busy with no time on the computer really!

On Wednesday, the 14th, The Bowles Nina (a Toggenburg doe) kidded to twins, buckling & doeling. They were sired by a Saanen buck. Unfortunately, the buckling didn't make it, but the doeling is doing great and is one spunky little girl!

Then on Friday, the 16th, Spirit Earth Lizzie (Nubian/Alpine experimental doe) kidded to twin bucklings! Both big and healthy, and hungry! Their sire is PawPawNin Junior Mint, a Mini-Nubian buck, as he was just to get the job done. So no special boys here, unless you'd like a cart wether or an unregistered buck with great milking genetics. One has already gone to his new home.

And last but not least, Good Goats JM Piglet kidded to twin doelings on Saturday, the 17th! BEAUTIFUL twin doelings! Their sire is PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt. One is polled, and both are extremely nice and colorful, great ears too. We are retaining the polled one and the other one is most likely already spoken for.

Mo kidded!

Mo kidded today to twin bucklings, about 3 hours ago or so. Kidding went easy, Mo is doing good and so are the babies (hungry little guys!). They are both black with white ears and crown, and one has white markings on his legs and belly. I'll hopefully get pictures later or tomorrow and post them when I can ;). Oh and their sire is PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt so they are third generation bucklings.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Been busy with all kinds of things like caring for the whole Ranch while some of my family was on vacation, kids, auctions, etc... but had a chance to post.

Dream Weaver's MoReen (F2) is the next doe due... TODAY! She always either goes on her due date or a day or two later, so my guess is tomorrow or the next day. We'll see. She is bred to PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt for third generation kids. I'll post ASAP after the kids are born!

Other things going on at the Ranch are, the house and stalls are finally sprayed with the foam insulation so we can actually keep warm now! Praise the Lord! We *highly* recommend it! The company that did it for us is Ozark Foaming located in Arkansas and Missouri. Great company with a great product!
