Doelings for sale

Well, I *thought* all of the kids were sold. Someone decided not to get some, so now I have 4 beautiful doelings available. Here are some pictures and information about them. Price is $125 per doeling, but discounts are available. Email me if you are interested!

This is a doeling out of Good Goats Vanilla Cream (Nubian) and PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt. She is a 1st generation doeling. She is very small and very well built. Her only downfall is she has too much control over those ears! When she is relaxed, they go down to her muzzle. Born May 10th. SOLD

This doeling is out of PawPawNin Ditzy Doris (1st gen) x PawPawNin Junior Mint (1st gen). She is 2nd generation. Very colorful. She has wide, thin and long ears. She is very dairy also. Born May 23rd. SOLD

This *adorable* doeling is out of PawPawNin Whitney (1st gen) x PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt (2nd gen). She is a 2nd generation doeling and just as cute as a doll! She is very small (2.9 lbs at birth). Her type is just wonderful though - nice ears, very dairy and put together little body. Plus, she has blue eyes and is colorful. Born June 3rd. SOLD

She is the sister to the above doeling (out of Whitney x Quiet Wyatt). She is not as nice as her sister, as her ears are a lot shorter. She still is a very nice little girl though. She is going to be small (3.6 lbs at birth) and should be a great milker. She has blue eyes and is very colorful also! SOLD

Togg for sale, Weird clumps in milk, etc

Well, just giving a quick update on things. Everyone is doing great.

We do have one goat for sale though - our registered Toggenburg doe. She is very healthy and produces well. She is about 6 years old and just kidded in January, and is a very big doe (popped out big bucklings with no problems). This is my first year milking her, and she has done very well so far. Her udder is very nicely attached and she is easy to milk. We are selling her because she is our only Togg and doesn't fit in with our breeding program (and well, I don't care for her personality either). Email me and we can see what we can work out. SOLD

Something weird did happen last night when I was milking. Doris, who kidded on the 23rd to quads and has been milk *great*, had some very grouse and very weird clumps in one side of her udder. Her udder was not hot and the milk appeared normal (although we just fed it to the cats). I had to pull a couple of them out, since the milk wouldn't come out. They were almost the consistency of cheese. She had no more this morning, so I am assuming just one of those things happened that you can't figure out? Any ideas? Here's a picture (*not for the sensitive!*).

Whitney kidded & pictures!

After having does kidding for almost 6 months now, we are DONE!! Whitney kidded on Wednesday the 3rd, the last doe of the season! YAY! It was an uneventful birth and a very nice way to finally end kidding season. . . 2 beautiful *tiny* doelings! Both are blue eyed and just adorable! These pictures are not the greatest of them though - they were not cooperating very well ;). The first doeling here was 2 1/2 lbs at birth (my smallest kid yet), and her sister was 3 1/2 lbs. Despite how tiny they are, they drink a whole lot of milk!

Quads!

Doris had quads! 2 bucklings and 2 doelings. I have been busy and not able to post till now, but she had them Saturday morning (May 23rd). They are all beautiful babies and Doris is doing great.

There were a few small, minimal complications with the birth, but nothing big. The first kid (buckling, he's black with a white spot) was born with no sack, and only his head was coming out with no front feet. So that made things a little harder, plus he was "sticky" since he had no sack on him, and that made him a lot harder to get out - since he didn't have any "lube" on him. I had to give him a bath just so the stuff would come off of him.

Then a little doeling came out (black & white swirl), a few minutes later a buckling (black & white swirl), then a small little girl came out butt first (black & brown). I didn't know that she was tail/butt first until she was pretty much out. Thankfully she is small, so it wasn't a problem ;).

Doris gave us a gallon of colostrum within the first 12 hours, and is milking like a pro now. The colorful buckling is already spoken for, so is the black and brown doeling. Here are a few photos of them, in order of birth ;).

Recent Photos

I thought I would post a few recent pictures of the goats. The weather has been great the past few days, and everyone has been grazing a lot and coming back with *full* bellies! Doris is still as wide as a train. All is going pretty well.

Vanilla had twins

Just thought I would give a quick update that Vanilla (Nubian doe, Good Goats Vanilla Cream) kidded to a beautiful buckling and doeling early Sunday (the 10th) morning. The buckling is a very handsome dark red with white ears and a little black trim. The doeling is a pretty black with white roaning, brown trip and white ears. Their ears have actually come *down* since they were born. They are both very small and petite, especially compared to all of the big kids! I hope to get some pics of them up here soon. Oh also, their sire is PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt. They are 1st gen, 75% Nubian 25% Nigerian kids.

Doris is now in the kidding stalls, on day 140 today, and is *HUGE*. I am expecting quads :).

Update, pictures, and hail storm

Well it's been a while since I posted last. No new babies born yet - we have had Vanilla in one of the kidding stalls for the past few nights. She is due the 13th. Everything is going pretty good. All of the kids are growing a lot.

We lost one of our yearlings from last year, Lotsa Dots, almost a week ago. We've been trying to keep her going for a few months now, but she just got thinner and thinner for no reason. The vet didn't find anything wrong with her. No worms, plenty of feed. I think the move might have taken a toll on her, but am not sure. She was a very sweet little doe and is missed :(!!

On another note, we had big storm late last week and some of this week. I've posted a picture of the hail we had below. No tornado though! I have not been in one yet and hope to not ever be ;). Today was a very nice, warm day and I think all of the animals enjoyed being able to finally go out to pasture.

Time for an update

It's been awhile since I posted last. Not too much has gone on. On Wednesday the 15th, Reata, one of our Boer/Nubian does kidded to a cute little doeling. Her sire was one of the MiniNubian bucks since Reata just needed to be bred. You would never think that this doeling has any Boer in her. . . just a good example why no NOA Minis should be registered. Anyway, we've already found a home for the little doeling. Thanks to Shanda for giving her and Willa's buckling a great home! Here is a picture of Reata's Boer/Nubian/MiniNubian doeling.

All of the kids are doing great. Verona's buckling's legs are all straight and perfect now! We ended up taping them, one with popsicle sticks, just so they would straighten out faster. It worked and he is walking like a normal kid now!

Other than that, all the does are still milking great and everything is going good. I think Spring might finally be getting here. . . the trees are starting to get leaves and there is grass growing... YAY! It has been brown for months! Here's a flower pic ;). Time to go, busy day today.
