31/21 - DS & Abortion

Did you know there are approximately 1.6 million abortions performed in the United States every year?

Did you know that 90% of babies prenatally diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted?

What a sickening tragedy and a horribly high number. Of course not all pregnant women do prenatal genetic testing, but just to think that 90% of the ones that do and it comes back positive then kill their unborn babies? That is just mind boggling.

Down Syndrome should NOT be a stigma. There is nothing shameful about having a child with DS. Individuals with Down Syndrome can go on to lead normal lives. They are typically very happy individuals and bring so much joy to the people around them. My life has changed so much for the better since my little brother was born.

It just breaks my heart knowing that so many babies are killed ONLY because of a positive prenatal test. And of course, many times that test is wrong and the babies do not have Down Syndrome. That is beside the point tho, as no child should be aborted. Ever.

Abortion needs to be outlawed, just as it is not legal to go murder your neighbor. People then argue that women will still have abortions and they will be unsafe. Guess what? Abortion can never be made safe. It always ends with someone dying.
